My work

Apple

  • Accessibility auditing
  • Development support

Whilst working with Apple’s UK Accessibility team I performed ongoing accessibility audits on internal software used by Apple Customer Care colleagues. This was to make the software more accessible to colleagues with differing needs, for example vision impairments or mobility issues. This required strong familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG levels AA/AAA, and Section 508 in US legislation, and being able to clearly communicate to developers how to meet these standards.

I liaised with stakeholders in Cupertino and Houston to ensure that the software was being delivered in a way that was as accessible as possible, so that Apple were able to recruit higher numbers of employees with differing needs.
