I worked with the DfE as Interaction Designer on ‘Get help with remote education, a platform brought about to try and reduce the amount of time schools spend finding the support and information they need around their provision of remote learning, during the disruption caused by COVID 19.

A key element of the project was user research with teachers, heads of department and senior leadership teams in schools to understand their needs and how we might best meet those needs. It was vital that we worked at pace, given the urgency of the impact that the pandemic is having on the education system in the UK.

As part of my work I created and maintained a design history of our approach during key phases of the project.

We also developed a self-assessment framework designed to help schools review their remote education provision, and identify where there may be areas for improvement.
